SASE (Secure Access Service Edge)

Networking and security, delivered as one cloud service, wherever your people work.

The problem

Your network was built for an office. Your business isn't. Your people work from home, the road, and multiple sites. Your apps live in Microsoft 365, SaaS platforms, and the cloud. Yet traffic still goes back through a VPN and a firewall in a closet. The results:

  • Slow, frustrating VPNs that users try to get around
  • Security gaps when people work off-network
  • Expensive hardware refreshes at every location
  • Too many tools and consoles with no single view of risk
  • Compliance pressure from cyber insurers, auditors, and regulators

What it is

SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) combines networking (SD-WAN) and security in one cloud service. Users and sites connect to the nearest cloud point of presence, where every connection is inspected and secured before it reaches the internet, SaaS apps, or your private applications.

SSE (Security Service Edge) is the security half of SASE. It's ideal if you want to replace your VPN and protect remote users now, and modernize your WAN later.

Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA)Replace your VPN. Users reach only the apps they're authorized for, nothing more.
Secure Web Gateway (SWG)Block malicious sites, phishing, and malware on any device, anywhere.
Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB)See and control which SaaS apps are in use and what data goes into them.
Data Loss Prevention (DLP)Stop sensitive data from leaving through email, web, or cloud apps.
Firewall as a Service (FWaaS)Enterprise firewall protection delivered from the cloud, with no appliances to patch.
SD-WAN (SASE plans)Fast, reliable connections between sites and the cloud, with automatic failover.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between SASE and SSE?

SSE covers the security services (ZTNA, SWG, CASB, DLP, FWaaS). SASE adds SD-WAN networking. Many clients start with SSE and add SD-WAN later.

Do I need to replace my firewall?

Not right away. We can run SASE alongside existing firewalls and retire appliances as they reach end of life.

Will this work with Microsoft 365?

Yes. All four platforms support Microsoft 365, and Microsoft's own Global Secure Access integrates natively with Entra ID.

How long does deployment take?

SSE for remote users can often go live in weeks. Full SASE across multiple sites depends on location count and is planned in phases.

Will users notice a difference?

Usually a better one: faster access to cloud apps and no more manual VPN connections.

How is it priced?

Per user per month, plus per site for SD-WAN. We give you a fixed monthly quote after the assessment.

Can you help with cyber insurance requirements?

Yes. SASE addresses many common insurer controls, such as MFA-backed access, web filtering, and remote access security. We provide reporting to support your application.

  • Right-sized shared storage for file, application and virtualization workloads
  • On-prem or hybrid

Backup, replication & disaster recovery

  • Automated backups and offsite replication
  • Tested recovery plans that meet your RTO and RPO targets

Cloud & hybrid storage tiering

  • Move cold data to lower-cost cloud tiers automatically
  • Hot data stays fast and local

Capacity planning & performance tuning

  • Ongoing monitoring so you upgrade on your schedule
  • Not after storage runs out unannounced

SD-WAN & multi-site

Running more than one location? We connect your sites into one reliable, centrally managed network, with traffic routed by application instead of by guesswork.

SD-WAN & multi-site connectivity

One policy, applied consistently, across every branch, office and cloud connection.

  • Application-aware routing that prioritizes critical traffic
  • Centralized policy management across every site
  • Automatic failover across broadband, MPLS & LTE/5G links
  • Direct, secure cloud on-ramp to Microsoft 365 & Azure
4

VoIP & unified communications

Phones, meetings and messaging on one platform, sized and tuned for call quality that holds up under real traffic.

Cloud & on-premises VoIP deployment

  • Phone systems that fit how you actually operate
  • Hosted in the cloud or kept on-site

FAQ

Common questions

Do you work with the vendors we already have in place?

In most cases, yes. We'll assess your existing network, storage, security and phone systems first, and recommend replacing only what's actually holding you back.

What's the difference between managed and co-managed IT?

Managed IT means we act as your entire IT department. Co-managed IT means you keep your internal team and we extend it, covering after-hours support, overflow projects, or specialist skills your team doesn't have in-house.

Can you design for multiple office locations at once?

Yes. Our SD-WAN and multi-site services are built for exactly this, giving every location consistent policy, routing and failover from one central console.

Do you handle disaster recovery and backup testing?

Yes. As part of storage design, we set up automated backups and replication, and run regular recovery tests so you know your data will actually come back if you need it.

Will you also monitor and secure what you build?

Yes, either through our managed/co-managed IT services above, or paired with our managed cybersecurity offering for 24/7 monitoring and response.
